Incompletely Complete
When 12 o’clock hit, everyone was high- spirited, they turned on our vehicle and some were banging the pot which earned a mouthful from my grandmother, nevertheless, we were happy. The funny thing is that I still believed in jumping at new year would make me taller. I’ve been jumping every new year for the past 4 years and my height didn’t even move an inch, I’m still a 4’11. Yet, one of our natures is that we believe in things that we don’t see but we still believe in it because it makes us happy, it makes us feel at ease and we’re used to it - a very Filipino culture. We continued the celebration with the prepared food and a glass of red wine. A red wine that symbolizes luck and strong bond as everyone raises their glass to share a toast. We enjoyed it together, and it was also during that time that we looked so free, happy, and contented, just by the thought of being with everyone.
Welcoming another year with your family, complete or incomplete, doesn't really matter for what matters most is how you treasure and make it special for memories to last.
