happiest with them

It was already noon, day before christmas when I was woken up in my slumber sleep due to the noise coming out from the kitchen and immediately, I found out what the noise was all about, my grandmother was preparing pansit – a famous Filipino dish. It was meant to be served later at midnight to welcome the christmas and seeing how busy my grandmother was, I knew I needed to help so I made some time to prepare myself and the ingredients of the dessert that I’m about to make since I’m only good at making desserts and it is the only thing that I’m tasked for. I made mango tapioca and mango float and maybe soon, I’ll look like a mango, just kidding. Although I don't usually help in the kitchen, I do enjoy it, particularly when I'm with my grandmother.

After I’ve finished my task, I proceeded with preparing the clothes that we’ll be wearing to the mass. I just wore a simple black dress and I’ve handed a button-down polo to my brother to make himself look presentable. It was an amazing experience to be back at the church, not that I’m saying that I don’t go to church most of the time, but it was just hard for me to come back for some reason. After some time, the mass ended beautifully and when we came home, we prepared the foods on the table for us to eat and enjoy. Sadly, we didn’t wait for 12 o’clock to come since I was with my grandparents and they tend to be more restless, so it was understandable for me.

Nevertheless, it was still fun because I get to talk to my friends and boyfriend’s mom which I found out to be an open and talkative one. It was indeed a night full of delight together with my family and loved ones.

Christmas may not be the same as it was before, but its significance lies in its ability to bring people together.
